Poas National Park

Your bilingual tour guide and driver will pick you up around 7 am at your accommodation in Jaco Beach. Load up and get ready for a great adventure! You’ll head northeast towards the Poas National Park (about a 2 1/2 hour drive). On the way, your guide will stop at Freddo Fresas, a popular local restaurant, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the area's famous strawberries. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase refreshments, including their renowned strawberry milkshakes, made with some of the finest strawberries grown in Costa Rica. This region of Alajuela is known for producing exceptional strawberries and is considered one of the best strawberry-growing areas in Central America.

From here, it is just a short drive to get to the volcano. Once you park at the staging area, you’ll embark on a 1/2 mile hike up to the main crater. The vaporous, opaque turquoise lake that lies within is one of the most acidic bodies of water on the planet! Spend some time checking out the volcano, have a look around the museum, and grab yourself a hot cup of fresh, Costa Rican coffee (grown in nearby hills) before heading off to La Paz.

La Paz Waterfall

A short drive will take you to La Paz, where you will find tons of natural beauty! There is a butterfly farm and exhibits with, hummingbirds, reptiles, monkeys, and wild cats! After perusing the wildlife rescue, you'll be treated to a delicious Costa Rican typical lunch. You can rest up and let you stomach settle before making your way down the La Paz trail system into the cloud forests where you will encounter four magnificent waterfalls. At the bottom, a shuttle will be waiting to take you back to the parking lot, where you will disembark for Playa Jaco
